Just thankfully on my plunder of good topics last night on Reddit, I noticed “Smoktech Groove Safety Recall”. Very alerted from this because I literally just published a Groove review no more than a week ago.
A guy by the name of Derek recently shared his story on Facebook of his exploding Smoktech Groove APV. His brand new device was accidentally knocked off of a dresser, then causing it to instantly short and venting of the battery on the inside.
I believe this situation is unique to the metal Groove devices, rather than the plastic such as the one I’ve reviewed. Taking no chances is a smart move though.
This is the statement from Smoktech:

There ya have it… don’t be surprised, this isn’t the first recall in this industry.
In addition to this recall, I have taken down the review I have published of the device to detour any others from trying to purchase it.
