Smok Koopor Knight and Helmet Kit

If you’re looking for a vaping setup with connotations of the Chevaliers, while connecting the old world and the new, today’s post will be a treat.  Smok has once again lived up to expectations, this time with the release of the Koopor Knight and Helmet kit.  The stylish pairing of the Koopor Mini 2 (80 watt temperature control device) and the Helmet Sub-Ohm Tank live up to the Smok name of outlandish style and bold choices — this one being specifically for the sub 80 watt market.

Over the next couple of minutes we will take a close look at the design specifications that will make this duo perfect for the low-wattage vaper.

The Smok Koopor Mini 2 AKA “The Knight”

Offered in a range of 4 colors, The Knight will gallop in to replace your current all day vape.  Firing between 1 and 80 watts, this single 18650 powered device is aimed at those who enjoy small mods with tons of functions.

-SMOKtech Koopor Knight and Helmet kit-black systemTaking full advantage of the Output Curves and dual driver system introduced in an earlier model in the Koopor line, the 4 line OLED screen readout will always have plenty of information at your finger-tips.  Displaying output mode, Wattage/Temperature, Voltage, Amperage and atomizer resistance at all times, which ever mode you choose to run with, this mod provides you with so much information you will be wondering if you are trying to vape or work as an extra on the latest sci-fi movie.

Temperature control output supports Ni200 nickel wire, titanium and stainless steel coils in either single or dual coil configurations with adjustable initial resistance and adjustable temperature co-efficient resistance for all.  As has a temperature range of 200-600° Fahrenheit seems to have become the industry standard, it hardly seems worth mentioning, other than to say it puts out like every other.

With a classic 3 button control face, over sized firing button and a stainless steel 510 connector, the zinc alloy device looks and feels like it will last for the ages.

The Smok Helmet Sub-Ohm Tank

SMOKtech Koopor Knight and Helmet kit-open tankNo knight would be complete on the battle field with out his helmet, and Smok’s Koopor Mini 2 is no exception.  Although the base unit is compatible with any 510 threaded RDA or tank on the market, this partnership looks like one that will last.

Obviously designed to comply with the European TPD laws, taking into account all the restrictions that the market has been given over there, Smok has produced a minor work of art.

The 24.5 mm diameter tank has all the safety feature we have now come to expect from these particular tanks.  It holds 2ml of e-liquid, it’s leak proof and the child proof locking cap;  all standard requirements for tanks being sold and in all honesty the restrictions aren’t that bad once you get used to them.

An added bonus to the top fill/ no spill system is the addition of the Helmet CLP coil system.  Attached directly to the top cap, the vertical coil system is removed every time you go to fill the tank.  This concept is something that appears to becoming more popular with the newer tank systems, rather than having to tear the thing to pieces to change out a coil it is now as simple as press and twist.  Constructed from stainless steel and Pyrex glass, the Helmet will be a piece of hardware that will last through the ages.

  • Just got vape mail today and got the Smok Max with the Helment tank. Does anyone know what the coils are made of? I cant find any site that tells me? I TC device and tank should have coils for temp control?

    • Looking at the specs for the tank, both of the coils shipped with the Helmet are the Helmet CLP vertical coil systems (0.4 and 0.6 Ω) and are both Kanthal vertical Claptons. While the Knight can be used with other tank systems for temperature control, I believe that Smoktech are in the process of bringing out the tc coils for the tank.
