Aspire Atlantis 2 Sub-Ohm Clearomizer Review

West Coast Vape Supply

The Aspire Atlantis holds somewhat of a special place for many of us vapers, as it was the first and original sub-ohm clearomizer introduced to the vaping market.  To be quite honest, there wasn’t many complaints from the Atlantis other than it using a ceramic wick and the lack of airflow.  Since we’ve seen Aspire enter the market, we’ve witnessed nothing but quality products.  In fact, before jumping on board with rebuildable atomizers and sub-ohm clearomizers, the Aspire CE5 clearomizer was one of my favorites.  To keep up with the demand of vapers, Aspire obviously went back to work on the second version of its game changing Atlantis.  With that being said, today we’re going to review the Aspire Atlantis 2 sub-ohm clearomizer.

Appearance / Packaging

The Aspire Atlantis 2 looks a lot like the original version, except for its quite large and clunky wide bore drip tip, leaving little room to discuss change or improvements as far as appearance goes.  The packaging looks simple, like something you would find sold in a high volume retail store.  I’ve really enjoyed how much the packaging has changed compared to the earlier years within the market.  None the less, as far as appearance goes for both the product and the packaging of it, Aspire continues to be on top of its game.

Features

The Atlantis has a strong and durable bottle that is made of stainless steel, 2 airflow holes that are adjustable rest at the bottom base, a clear rubber grommet sits above it and the tank portion is made of pyrex glass, which holds 3ml’s of e-liquid.  The drip tip is one of the highlights of the Atlantis 2, as it is wide bore and has adjustable airflow built into the drip tip for better airflow and better cooling of the vapor.  What’s even more impressive about the Atlantis 2 is that it uses sub-ohm coils, one as low as 0.3Ω, while another is at 0.5Ω just like the original Atlantis offered.  Another nice feature that is definitely notable would be that the Atlantis 2’s replacement coils use organic cotton, while its predecessor used a ceramic wick.  The addition of the organic cotton will give a much cleaner and purer taste when vaping.

Performance

One thing that can be expected from the Atlantis 2 is a big vapor production.  The adjustable airflow included in the drip tip helps a bit, but not a huge increase in performance.  However, the dual air holes with the ability to adjust them is certainly an improvement to what we know as the Atlantis.  Aspire claims that the 0.5Ω coil is rated for 20 to 30 watts, which is where I also experience the best vape, but the 0.3Ω coil is rated best between 60 to 80 watts.  I like the fact that I can run these coils at higher watts, but in order to run it that high, you must expect a very hot vape, one that I’m not comfortable with.
