The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association has recently plastered the front of their website sharing 5 things that you can do right now to save vaping. At a time where the vaping industry is facing its most fierce battle yet, your actions are vital and heavily needed more than ever. Do not take our right to vape for granted — this is something that we’re all going to have to band together as one and fight. We are begging you, please help us save vaping!
Being that CASAA has already provided a nice list for us all to go by, we wanted to comment on each section of the listing, and share it with you, our readers. Please share this post, the CASAA website, and inform your family and friends what they can do to support an industry that has supported so many others. Thank you for taking the time to read.
CASAA: 5 Things You Can Do Right Now To Save Vaping!
1. Send a Message! Support HR 2058 which could save the vapor industry from total destruction. (Email Here)
CASAA included sending a message at the top of the list because that is the first and most important thing you can do right now! By doing this, you’ll be contributing to the vaping industry and supporting HR 2058. Understand, though, you are not the only one that’s sharing this message, many are standing beside you. It only takes one of us to make a difference, but all of us to make a change.
2. Tell your Attorney General that you stand with Iowa AG Tom Miller and his statement regarding a reasoned, scientific debate about the merits of vapor products. (Email Here)
Not only is this man the Attorney General for the State, he is also the national chair for “The Truth initiative”. While the organisations stance is that vaping, and the use of e-cigs, presents a new and very worrisome challenge, he believes that if the harm reduction aspects of vaping was widely known by existing smokers, they could be very beneficial to public health. While we are all focusing our attention on Washington, the AG’s of each state can rapidly become allies in this fight as each State has its own right to make informed decisions.
3. Join CASAA! It’s easy, it’s free, and we will keep you up to date on information and opportunities to take action to protect your access to vapor products. (Join CASAA Here)
If you are not already a member of CASAA, sign up. It literally takes 2 minutes and will make sure that you are completely up to date on everything that is going on. Not only will they keep you in the loop at a national level, if there are any Calls To Action that affect you at the local or State levels, they will make sure you have access to all relevant information.
Remember, in this fight, knowledge is power. Being a member of the organisation is probably the most powerful tool that you, as a vaper can hold. A single voice may not be heard, but if everyone is on the same page making the same noise, it becomes very loud indeed.
4. Register To Vote! Millions of vapers, including YOU, have the power to influence government decisions by electing candidates who support vaping! (Register To Vote Here)
If you are not on the voting rolls, unfortunately, politicians rarely take you seriously. Being a registered voter will tell the people who serve us that we are watching them and will use our collective power, should we choose, to remove them from office if they go against our wishes. We live in a day and age where as little as 500 votes could swing an election. Your representative won’t brush you off so easily if they see that you and 499 of your friends, all with the same message, could be the deciding factor in their next race.
5. Tell your story! Please visit CASAA’s Testimonials Project and tell us about your experience with low-risk, smoke-free products like e-cigarettes and snus. (Submit Your Story Here)
Every single one of us has a story to tell, plain and simple. Most of them sound eerily familiar, I smoked, I tried everything to quit and then vaping came into my life: poof, no more cigarettes. Every story, no matter how similar, is different for the simple fact that they are all being told by different individuals. We put out a request here on the site to ask for your stories last week, because the more of us that say the same thing, the harder it is for them to bury and ignore us.
