European parliament recently scrapped the proposal for electronic cigarettes to be regulated as medical devices. For e-cig users in the EU, this may come as a big surprise.
On the US side of things, the FDA is still deeming federal regulation of the devices, with the announcement of its plans by October 31st. The regulation has been delayed a few times, so it could be possible to happen once again.
The good thing about this industry is that it has grown at such a rapid pace, that it has drawn attention from the whole world, even swaying the 3 leading tobacco companies to enter as well. Many users hope that electronic cigarettes will eventually eliminate the traditional cigarette. Some analysts predict that electronic cigarettes may pass tobacco cigarette sales within a decade.
The EU vapers can claim a victory from this and I’m sure it comes as great welcome.
