KangerTech Nebox 60W TC: First Look

West Coast Vape Supply

The KangerTech Nebox 60 W TC makes me think that Kanger has my office bugged.  We were having a discussion a couple of weeks ago, about the days when everyone thought the “next big thing” would be a tank built-in to a regulated device.  Which up until now has always been an albatross.  There have been a couple that have tried, but for the most part they have been unsuccessful.  Here we go again, Kangertech are setting up to change the playing field with their latest release.

The first thing you say when you see the Nebox for the first time is “That isn’t a 510 connector!” and you would be right. This innovative design places the massive 10 ml tank inside the plastic outer case.  At first glance it looks like the previous offerings we have seen recently from Kangertech as far as usability, the large firing button, OLED screen and smaller adjustment buttons on the side.  It is the same height as the Subox  mini starter kits Kbox but is slightly wider.  The Delrin drip tip sticking out of the top may seem strange at first, but having the tank on the inside means that it is easier to fit into confined spaces, such as back pockets without fear of knocking a tank off of its 510 threads and stripping it.  In all honesty, if you liked the look and feel of the Subox Mini Starter kit, you will absolutely fall in love with this system in no time at all.

Features

First, lets look at exactly what is included:

  • 1x Kanger Nebox (With Pre-Installed Ni200 Coil)
  • 1x Built-In Nebox Tank
  • 1x Mini RBA Coil
  • 1x OCC Coil
  • 1x USB Charging Cable

As simple a system as you could possibly imagine.

Specs & Features:

  • Tank Capacity: 10ML
  • Optional RBA System
  • Output: 60W
  • Minimum Resistance: 0.15 ohm
  • 18650 Compatible (Replaceable / Sold Separately)
  • Temperature Control
  • OLED Screen
  • Built-In 10mL Sub-Ohm Tank
  • Delrin Drip Tip
  • Micro-USB Charging Port

While we may not be able to change out the tank for which ever one we feel like that day, there aren’t many worthy 10mL tanks available.  In all honesty, this system was designed for one specific purpose, and we have access to hundreds of one size fits all mod/RDA combinations already.  If you are the person who is looking for a compact temperature controlled setup that takes up very little vertical room, this beast is the one for you.  You have the option of on board charging via usb or switching out to a fresh battery while you are on the go.  There are several other plus points but we will touch on those in the following section.

My biggest peeve with any system is getting juice all over the top of my mod, as not only is this a pain to clean up but can also lead to damage of the mod.  by putting the bottom of the tank at the bottom of the mod, they have minimized the possibility of this ever happening.  It is so simplistic, it is surprising it has taken anyone this long to get it right.  2 circles on the bottom of the mod serve simple purposes, one to house the battery and the other to be removed to fill the tank.  The only tool you will ever need  with this mod is a single penny.  The coils have been rolled back to cylindrical rather than cubes for better movement of e-liquid through the system and performs on the same level, if not higher than any comparable 60 watt TC device.  If you can use the other devices put out in the last 18 months by Kangertech, you already pretty much know exactly how it works.

Final Thoughts

As a person who has on several occasions “snapped” a tank off the 510 connector on a mod, this design excites me.  Although this is seen as a low powered mod in direct comparison to some that are currently available, this is one that has been designed with stealth and stability in mind.  As we see more temperature control, lower wattage devices become available, this will be one to watch out for.
