Over this past weekend during The Vape Exhibit by ECC in Richmond, Virginia, the crew of VPX brought on a group of the industry’s top advocates to present the Life After Regulations Conference & Seminar. The group consisted of Amy McCann Baddi from Smoke Free Alternatives Trade Association (Virginia Chapter), Jay Taylor from The Virginia Smoke Free Association, Cynthia Cabrera from The Cating Group, Stefan Didak from Not Blowing Smoke, Brittani Cushman from The Vapor Technology Association, and Brian Walters from The Right 2 Be Smoke Free Organization.
The conference & seminar was held as an extension of ECC’s (Electronic Cigarette Convention) effort to provide businesses in the vaping industry with the information and education that they will need to protect their businesses, as well as for them to have proper information to protect their customers.
The floor was filled with more than 150 seats taken, business owners were sure to pay close attention to details throughout the conference & seminar, and it was truly a shocking outcome to witness when compared to other advocacy sessions in the past. As you can see, there were many interested in hearing what these people had to say, and even more so when the viewers heard The Right 2 Be Smoke Free Organization’s Brian Walters’ powerful speech.
Though I attended this event to capture video for you, the Guide To Vaping viewers and the rest of the vaping community, I learned a lot myself. I learned that shop owners are now very limited to what they can do, I learned that shop owners can no longer help their customers with the very products they purchase, and I also learned that customers will not even get to sample the e-liquid products that they purchase, unless they want to pay for that sample. I learned many things from attending the Life After Regulations Conference & Seminar, but one thing that stuck out to me the most is that we have a long hard road ahead of us, and both business owners and consumers must gain the proper information and join together to battle this nightmare we call the FDA.
