
7. Dimitri Box Mod
The Dimitri was my first 100% mechanical mod and is still in my daily rotation, purely because it is a solid device that never fails once you know how to use it. Another solid block of aircraft aluminum milled to accommodate 2 18650’s in parallel, slightly wider than some of its counterparts because it has a block in the center to keep the batteries firmly in place. While some may find it fiddly having to insert the batteries then screw the negative connections up to snug the batteries into place, as with the cherry bomber, it does prevent the batteries from falling out should you ever drop it on the floor.
The copper 510 is recessed into a 22.5 mm milled section of the deck that is protected by a delrin insulator that prevents the atomizer for touching the deck. It was a redundant safety feature they installed even though this box has a positive switch so will not accidentally auto fire. The top mounted switch can be turned to lock the device, but unless you plan on putting a brick on the switch itself that is something that rarely happens.
