Top 5 Best Mouth-To-Lung Tanks

West Coast Vape Supply

Features To Look For In An MTL Tank

Airflow: The airflow is one of the most important parts to a mouth-to-lung tank.  The airflow should have just the right amount of restriction, and even with the stock restriction it should still offer adjustable airflow control to allow the user to dial-in to their airflow preference.  Many believe the airflow should be comparable to the experience of one you receive from smoking a traditional cigarette.  Another feature that users look for in an MTL tank is increased throat hit.  When the airflow is restricted enough and the vapor is condensed, this creates a better throat hit for the user.

TIP: Using a higher nicotine strength will increase the throat hit.  The higher the nicotine strength, the more throat hit you’ll receive.

Flavor: Mouth-To-Lung users are also more keen to seeking out a better flavor production than a better vapor production.  MTL Tanks are known for their ability to offer the great flavor from your vape juice, but some of them do better than others as a result of airflow and coil design.  With that said, most people search for an MTL tank that presents the best features to produce the best flavor.

Tank Capacity: Though it isn’t a feature that’s on the priority list for many, it’s definitely nice to have a large tank capacity, while not compromising in size by too much.  A common tank capacity is around 3mL or greater, but there are tanks available that perform great, yet do not offer a large tank capacity.  The market is large and there are plenty of options, so do not settle for less, and make sure you seek out an MTL tank that offers a great tank capacity while still not taking up too much size.

Coils: The great thing about MTL tanks versis DL tanks is that the coils are typically less complex and take on a smaller size, resulting in replacements coils that are much more affordable.  However, since the hype surrounds DL tanks, there aren’t as many coil options available for mouth-to-lung tanks as there are for others.  This is why MTL users should search for the best features available for these tanks, as coil options are important when it comes to the experience and satisfaction you gain from a tank.  Being that temperature control has become popular throughout the industry, many MTL tanks offer temp control coils, such as Stainless Steel (SS) and Nickel 200 (Ni200) coils.

Ease of Use: The ease of use from a tank is something also worthy keeping an eye out for.  There’s nothing like the ability to quickly refill your tank with ease, so a great feature to have is a top fill design.  Other notable features that fall into the ease of use group is the ability to completely dissasemble the tank for purposes of cleaning, and others even enjoy a feature that allows them to replace the coil without having to empty the tank.

  1. I vaped to quit dipping. Has worked well. Should I equalize pg/vg for smoother hits or leave my pg 0 and vg 100%

  2. I seriously wonder, do you even MTL? Those tanks you mentioned are far from the best, okay maybe nautilus X is one of the better ones, but still, you failed to mention kayfun or rose, let alone the boutique vape such as kabuki. MTL is so much more than what you wrote here. I’m an exclusive MTL vapers for 4 years, and i disagree with this article.

    • I agree for the most part on your take on this article. I had gone to DL about four years ago and now heading back to MTL with the new nic salts out there. The Rose is still my number one tank, but I will say…their number two tank is actually an Innokin knock off…the T18…and the Innokin T18 is an awesome Vape. Their number one? Sucks unless you are a fan of gurgling. It’s a Joyetech Cubis Pro, also knocked off by VaporFi…a rediculous price for a knock off considering…well, read my take on this whole article if you really want the low down. Otherwise, I agree…bogus choices even IF it was over a year ago.

    • For sure the Nautilus mini and the ultimate KAYFUN 5

    • Ive been hunting down all possible MTL tanks out there for years now and this list is absolute crap, the only one you got right is the nautilus which is up there but not the X and the rest on the list is just not even close. start looking at Squape, Rose, Kayfun’s, Expromizers, Pico’s thats MTL for you.

    • Now, just because you personally don’t agree with this article doesn’t actually mean that your opinion is the right one. Does it? I appreciate your feedback though.

    • agreed, he didn0t know the fuck he wrote at all

      • I know exactly what I wrote. In fact, this article is based off of research I did throughout the vaping community, finding out what tanks MTL users prefer most. The list you see in this article is a result of that research, which included a whole list of MTL users agreeing on these products.

        • why you pretentious little prick! this article is more about you than it’s supposed subject matter!

        • Calm your tits! If you argue with the choices I picked for this list, then argue with half of the MTL users on Reddit and other sites, as this list comes from research on what users enjoy most. Rebuildables weren’t chosen to be on this list. And, there’s nothing about me at all – I’m not an MTL user. So, uh, yea. Why would you let an article get you this mad? lol

  3. I personally LOVE the Kanger Toptank Mini! The coils last such a long time and I vape around 35 watts and it holds alot so I don’t have to fill it every couple of hours.I am a MTL vapor and I want flavor not vapor. I had problems with this tank initially leaking alot until I went to a local vape shop and they told me not to tighten the coils so much and I also fill the tank when changing a coil and let it sit in a small container overnight with the air flow open all of the way that way I can see leaks before putting it on my mod. Since I started doing this I haven’t had a tank leak on a mod overnight! So happy now!!! I also have a Crown 2 that is a so called DL but by restricting the airflow and using the .8 coils, it does great as a MTL tank! I wish I could find a tank that holds over 6mls and is 22mm! I HATE filling tanks and I don’t know why they don’t make them bigger as I can’t be the only person who wants a large capacity tank for the smaller mods. Sorry I rambled on lol!

  4. I have to agree with a comment made earlier…not an accurate article. It’s biased to say the least. I will start by saying that if someone will spend the money at VaporFi for their product, I have a knock off Ford Escort I will sell you for twice the actual is worth! Why? Why would someone steer a vaper to over priced product when this someone says he is experienced and knows what he is talking about? The number one choice on list is actually a Cubis Pro that you can now buy for half that price and get an authentic. The number two I assume is an Innokin T18…only one from VaporFi that’s good and close to the price of the original from Innokin. Though it won’t be admitted, I am experienced enough…8years worth…to assume VaporFi supports this blog. Otherwise, these two tanks wouldn’t even be in the top 50. If you don’t like to build, and want basic and good, go for the Innokin T18. I have it and it’s awesome on the flavor side, and the Nautilus Mini is still number one in my book. If you like to build and have some experience, the Rose V2 and V3 are awesome tanks, and if you would pay $30 for the number one tank on this bogus list, you’d pay the price for an authentic Rose. Otherwise, one can find a quality clone for less than $25 and the SXK and Infinite versions are pretty good. Oh, by the way, if you are looking at VaporFi for a mod, you can pick up one of their Vox 150 watt for almost two to three times more that what it’s copied from or at least is mimicked…Aspire NX or EVO series mods. Sorry, but as soon as VaporFi made the number one and two spot, I knew this would be bogus and money inspired.

    • The list wasn’t created from my use with the products, it was created from research. These are the products that were favored by a good number of MTL vapers. I did replace I believe the T18 with a similar VaporFi product, yes a knock off. I did this for two reasons, one because I trust them (have done business with them on several occasions, and two, it’s an affiliate. It’s basically the same product. Anytime I push out articles based on products, I, of course, will link to an affiliate I deal with. This is how I’m able to continue writing articles and helping information full time. If you feel there is a better list you can come up with, share it with me and I’ll add to this article and let people that read this blog know was our reads think is a good list. (btw, this list was made in no particular order)

      • I learned a long time ago, if your not doing it like they are doing it you are doing it wrong. Because you didn’t list the ones they think should be listed then you are wrong. It doesn’t matter that you polled 1000 people asking what MTL they use, you are wrong because you didn’t list the ones they like best. It’s sort of like Apple vs Android, requardless of how you write it the other side of the argument is going whinge about it.

        • I couldn’t agree with you more, Mick. I too learned long ago that those who disagree or have something bad to say about something will comment freely, it’s the ones that agree and have positive thoughts that won’t. I’m not an MTL user, so if I create a post based on it, it could only be the result of research and that’s what I did. I’m sure there are 1000’s of people who will disagree with the list, but on the other hand, I know for a fact there are 1000’s who agree with it also.

  5. I can’t speak for the others, but the Aspire Nautilus BVC (5ml) is a leaky, gurgley, hunk of junk. Even the highest airflow setting is too tight. I’ve tried everything short of witchcraft to avoid flooding…better try witchcraft…

  6. I’m new to vaping and went out and bought a kanger spider mod .I didn’t know about mouth to lung and direct lung tanks .I like mouth to lung is there anyway I can change my spider mod over to a mouth to lung instead of direct lung hits?
