A Complete Guide To The VaporFi VOX 80 TC Mod

West Coast Vape Supply

When it comes to mid-ranged vape mods, the VOX 80 from VaporFi ticks off all the demands that vapers place on them.  If you’re looking for a hard-working box mod with amazing battery life, this bad boy has you covered.  If you’re looking for a durable design that’s capable of working with Kanthal coils or assorted temperature control wires, the VOX 80 has all of that too.  Finding a company that not only puts out amazing products, but also backs up its inventory with amazing customer service is rare, but you won’t find the VaporFi logo on an item they don’t believe in.

Over the course of the next few minutes we are going to take a closer look at the VOX 80, and delve into the specs and operation of the device, so if you bought one today — or have already got one in your hand — you will be able to navigate through it like it’s second nature.

VaporFi VOX 80 TC Mod

vaporfi-vox-80w-tc-mod-front-faceMeasuring in at 50mm by 22mm by 82mm, the VOX 80 is not the smallest mid-range box mod on the market.  Constructed from Zinc Alloy, it feels solid in the hand, and it has enough weight behind it to feel as though it’s not going to break the first time you drop it.

As far as appearance goes, any fan of VaporFi products will recognize the design instantly.  Clean and crisp lines scream simplicity while the 0.96″ vertically aligned OLED screen makes everything easy to understand at a glance.  The flush mounted adjustment and firing buttons are designed to make operation simple, but accidental changes almost impossible while the signature square shapes make them identifiable as products of VaporFi.

Staying with the lineage of the VOX line, VaporFi strives to pack the biggest punch into every box and the built-in dual Li-Po battery pack kicking out 4000mAh does just that.  Even firing at the maximum of 80Watts, that’s enough battery life to keep a chain vaper happy all day.

Designed to be accurate and safe, both for the device and its user, the temperature control functions of the VOX 80 are some of the simplest to understand and use.  Rather than having 20 different pre-installed settings, TCR —temperature coefficient of resistance functions in the mod make it easy for you to both set your desired wire type and lock it into one of the three memory functions.  Firing coils as low as 0.05Ω between 100°C and 315°C 200°F and 600°F — taking advantage of the temperature functions gives you the ability to turn that 4000mAh battery into a lifetime of vaping, extending your coil life, reducing the amount of e-liquid you use, and preventing almost all dry hits.

VOX 80 Operation

Before Turning The Device On: As the VOX 80 has a built-in power source, you don’t have to worry about battery installation although we recommend that you make sure it is fully charged before taking it out for a test drive.  Simply attach the micro-USB cord to the charging port and wait.  Make sure that your coils are saturated, that they are between 0.1 Ω and 3.5Ω if you plan on using POWER mode and 0.05Ω and 1.5Ω if you plan to use temperature control or TCR.

Power On/Off: Getting the device up and running is as simple as clicking the FIRE button 5 times in quick succession.  To turn the device off, it’s the same thing, click the FIRE button 5 times as rapidly as you can.

WATTAGE/POWER Mode: Clicking the FIRE button rapidly 3 times will open up the menu system.  Once inside, use the “” key to navigate between functions until you open up the POWER option.  Use the “+” to lock it into place and then when you return to the main screen the adjustment keys will now adjust the wattage between 1 and 80Watts in 0.1 increments.

Ni200 Mode: If you are using Ni200 coils, click the FIRE button 3 times to enter the menu system and use the “” key to scroll through to the Ni200 option.  Lock it in place using the “+” key and when you return to the main screen the adjustment keys now raise and lower the temperature of the coils.

TCR Mode: In much the same way as the Ni200 mode this is for firing in temperature control.  When you find the TCR mode in the menu system, input the number of the desired wire type —TCR codes are all over the internet —  and lock it into place.
