It’s a fact that you’ll end up with many vape mods. The question we’re asking today is what do you do with old vape mods after you’ve upgraded to something newer?
Over time we easily accumulate quite the stash of old vape mods, and that’s mostly due to the outpour of new one’s entering the – already overfilled – market. Even though new vape mods being released is a rather consistent occurrence, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have purchase a new one. However, there is something within us, not just as vapers, but as humans, that makes us want to drive for more and reach for better.

As DirecTV’s new commercial says, don’t be a settler – something we’re clearly not. We’ve benefited from that same drive during the year’s 2010 and 2011 when mods were being built for the first time in the homes of many vapers around the world.
When it comes to our old vape mods, there are three different types of vapers. There are those that hold onto those old chunks of metal (referred to as a collector), those that trade their old vape mods due to a limited budget or the refusal of shelling out anymore cash (referred to as a trader), and then there are those that sell their old vape mods to try to compensate some of the money they originally invested in the product (referred to as a seller).
The Collector: A vaper that collects old vape mods typically has a good reason for doing so. Some vapers will collect old vape mods, because once they finally upgrade to something newer, the old vape mods doesn’t have enough value to consider trading or selling it. Some collectors hold onto their vape mods, even if it will never be used again, because it offers them of a memory of what it took for this industry to get where it’s at or how far these vape mods have come. I personally hold onto all of my mods – it gives me a timeline to view, showing me where our devices began and how they’ve progressed over the years. However, there are also those out there that collect old vape mods to boast of how vested they are in the vaping culture.
The Trader: The vaper that trades old vape mods is just looking for a change, and maybe something different from what is currently being offered to them with their current “old” vape mod. When we purchase our mods, we invest our money into them in hopes that they will do their job and continue to do their job long after we no longer use or want to use them. Since there are so many vape mods that are being streamed into the market, and we don’t use them nearly as long as their overall lifespan provides, this allows us to trade them in for something else that can potentially benefit us more.

The Seller: The vaper that sells old vape mods is simply someone trying to compensate some of the money that they originally invested in the product. If you’re a seller, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Our vape mods can be expensive, and even the one’s that have a cheaper price tag can easily break the bank after you’ve purchased a dozen. Since you’re looking to upgrade to a newer mod, why not relieve some of that burden by getting rid of an old device that you will most likely never use again. Remember, if you’re not a collector, these mods do not hold value very long, so if you’re wanting to get any of that money back at all that you’ve put into it, get rid of it while it’s still a some-what fresh release.
