FDA Backlash: An Army Of Advocates Rising

West Coast Vape Supply

In direct response to the FDA’s 500 pages of destructive regulation, an army of advocates is coming to bat as a single entity.

The following was posted early this morning by each of the organization across the Facebook platform:

Today, CASAA, SFATA, AEMSA, AVA and NBS have formally announced their coalition to pursue legal and legislative strategies now that the FDA’s final deeming regulations have been released.
The coalition will continue working to determine the correct litigation strategy and legislative actions.
We will be informing the vapor industry and community of next steps, deadlines, PR objectives, and grassroots efforts.  Organizations interested in participating should contact coalition partners.
Please feel free to contact any of the organizations listed above for more details in the coming days.

Each of the groups listed has spent the last several years steadfastly working in some capacity to protect the vaping community from attack after attack.  Before looking to the interests of the industry, they will make sure that you and I, the consumers, are protected.  Every time local government has stepped in to implement a ban or tax on our products, one of these organizations has had a representative there, fighting for our rights.

What Are They Fighting

fda logoAs it stands, the FDA regulations released last Thursday would cripple the small business aspect of vaping completely.  From a consumer stand-point, the way that the regulations are laid out, every single e-liquid and device that you like will no longer be available for purchase.  The FDA have made it known both through their website and social media that they have not implemented a ban, but acknowledge the fact that their rules will remove approximately 99% of our products from the market.
Regardless of new information being brought forward from the scientific community, specifically the Royal College of Physicians in England, the FDA chose to throw down a rule book that ignores reason and the public health aspect of vaping.

Under the guise of protecting the public, the rules have deliberately removed choice from the market and handed the revenue of thousands of small businesses to the tobacco giants, pharmaceutical companies and people who do clinical trials on products.  Every single e-liquid you currently vape will be required to go through an application process, costing millions of dollars, just to be considered for the market. The same process will have to be followed for every single flavor in every nicotine level.

The majority of our e-liquid comes from companies that will not be able to afford these fee’s and will close their doors, removing our choices from the market and leaving us with whatever Mr. Big Tobacco feels like allowing us to have.  This is just the tip of the iceberg and over the coming days and weeks, these organizations will be guiding us in our fight against those who would happily see us all go back to cigarettes.

What Can You Do To Help

Make sure that you are subscribed to each of these associations as they will be putting out calls to action and letting us all know the best way to get our collective point across.  Make sure that you get your family and friends involved in this fight.  They probably appreciate the fact that you gave up smoking, explain to them how the FDA pretty much told you to go back to cigarettes.

If its possible, put some money into the funding of these organization.  Unfortunately, the cost of saving our community and lifestyle will be great, especially considering the opposition we are facing.  They have spent more money on demonizing vaping than our entire industry has brought in which should tell us how serious they are about taking away our options.

  1. We’re gonna fight the good fight. Great article, good to hear this. I’m a fellow cloud chaser. I would hate to see my mod become nothing more than a brick. Thank you for whatever you do.

  2. Im really glad they are banding together! Big Tobacco finally realized that Vaping will eventually take them over and they are NOT having it. The FDA and Big Tobacco got together to ban it… and I personally think they MIGHT try ban all Vape products and than make all Vape products for themselves…
