What Is The Difference Between Full Spectrum Vape CBD Oil and Isolate?

West Coast Vape Supply

Thanks to the non-psychoactive properties of the cannabinoid CBD (cannabidiol), CBD is gaining popularity as a natural way to alleviate chronic pain, anxiety, stress and more. CBD now comes in many convenient forms such as gummy candies, lotions, oils—to name a few with each varying in effectiveness.

One of the most common ways for users to enjoy CBD is through vaping full spectrum CBD vape oil or CBD isolate. Due to the growing popularity of CBD many brands with different flavors and strengths are now available to suit the exact needs and tastes of the user. For those interested in using CBD products, they are left with the decision on choosing between products that are made from CBD isolate or full spectrum CBD.

Full Spectrum CBD Vape Oil vs CBD Isolate

Full spectrum CBD oil contains all of the cannabinoids that are present in the hemp plant. Some examples of the compounds include Cannabicyclol (CBL), Cannabinol (CBN), Tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) and Cannabigerol (CBG). Along with these cannabinoids, full spectrum CBD also contains trace amounts of THC, but in a very low concentration of up to 0.3%, which is the legal limit for industrial hemp products for minimal mental stimulation. CBD isolate is purified CBD and means that it has been derived from the hemp plant and isolated from the other cannabinoids present in the source plant.

Which is More Effective?

It was previously believed that CBD isolate was more potent than full spectrum CBD vape oil. But this was proven otherwise in a 2015 study from the Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem. In the study, researchers gave full spectrum CBD and CBD isolates to two different groups of mice.

Through the study, researchers were able to prove that full spectrum CBD is much more concentrated and effective in offering higher levels of relief versus CBD isolate. It was also found that increasing levels of full spectrum CBD continued to provide continuous relief whereas increased levels of CBD isolate remained the same in effectiveness.

Which Should I Use?

Though full spectrum CBD has been found to be more effective, there are times when using CBD isolate can still be the better option. For example, a user may not want the full effects of full spectrum CBD. Some may also be sensitive to other cannabinoids present in full spectrum CBD, whereas CBD isolate wouldn’t have those cannabinoids.

CBD isolate still holds many health benefits and is often the preferred treatment for users. As with many things, it all comes down to the preferences of the user and since everyone is different, there are also differences in reaction to both types. The best option is to try both full spectrum CBD and CBD isolates in order to find which type suits their needs the best.
