Cravings – Never Give In and Never Give Up

West Coast Vape Supply

So it’s been awhile since my last blog post, and that’s mainly because I just haven’t had much to say. I use this ‘vape blog’ category to pretty much talk about my daily life and different things I want to get off my chest. Today I have one of those things – and it’s cravings.

Some of you may think just because I’m super into electronic cigarettes and run GuideToVaping that I’m beyond tobacco cigarettes, but I have a confession to make… I still get small cravings. Surprised? After right at 2 years, every once in a while, I still get cravings for a tobacco cigarette. It isn’t the nicotine I crave, I obviously get that. The hand to mouth sensation, I’m over that… so I believe what gives me these slight and very random cravings is the harshness and foul taste of a cigarette. Odd, right?

I’ve indulged myself in various flavors and brands of e-liquid, like fruits and candies – and I think I’ve lost sight of one of the main traits to smoking traditional cigarettes. I can of course find something with a bigger throat hit, but it still doesn’t cover the grundgyness of how tobacco cigarettes perform. The taste of a cigarette gave me a sense of thickness, and though it was killing my taste buds with what we call now ‘nasty’, for some odd reason, I kind of miss that.

Tobacco cigarettes have a strong hold over people and it’s obviously why everyone keeps buying them and keeps smoking them. But no matter how hard times may get and how long the cravings last, never give in and never give up. I’ve kept that same mindset from when I first decided to move to this better alternative. It was to never give in and to never give up.

  1. Wow, that’s kind of surprising to me. It’s been more than three years since I have had a tobacco cigarette and I don’t think I ever even once missed them within a week of switching to an ecig – and I smoked two packs a day for 20 years! The thought of smoking one makes me ill. My wife still smokes but uses the ecig when she can’t smoke and never once did I think, “man, I’d love to have a drag off that!”

I guess everyone is different, though. Best of luck to you Blake!

    • Thanks, Scott.
It isn’t really that I want one – you know how we are, we can’t even stand the smell of a tobacco cigarette. But strangely, every blue moon, I get this craving not really for a cigarette, but for how they performed. They weren’t airy and you actually had to pull on them. When I inhaled, it wasn’t so much of a throat hit, but an overall harshness and grungy type feel. And not that I’m a fan of the flavor ‘ass’, but I may in some weird way miss the taste. I might just be craving a tobacco flavor too, we’ll see.
