Vaping Guide For 2020
You’ve Heard About It: Some Good, Some Bad
Chances are, you’ve heard about vaping by now. Some of it has been good since there are so many people that are active vapers. However, we also know that a lot of what you’ve heard about vaping has been bad. If you want the truth about it, the media is lying to you, and the people that have spoken negatively about vaping are only reciting what they’ve heard from those media outlets. The truth is, vaping has had the biggest impact on tobacco smoking since… ever. When people switch from traditional cigarettes to vaping, the success rate is through the roof, and that scares everyone that relies on money from big tobacco.
What You Didn’t Know
Did you know that the very state you live in right now is accepting money from tobacco companies? Why do you ask? Because tobacco companies and the state you live in have a deal called the tobacco master settlement agreement. As long as they continue to sell a product that is killing its citizens, big tobacco must pay. The government and states are getting a piece of the big tobacco pie and it is the citizens that are paying for it… first with their life, and now they’re trying to prevent you from having access to an alternative product that will help save your life. It isn’t right.
So, sure. We can understand why you’ve heard some bad. However, if you are a smoker or want to start smoking, just know there is a less harmful alternative where you can experience the ‘good’ for yourself.
It’s Time To Switch To Vaping
No matter what you’ve learned from the media, the proof is in the pudding. As much as some people don’t want to admit it, vaping is the less harmful alternative to smoking. Not only is it less harmful but it is the most successful alternative nicotine product on the market, according to various studies and outlets. In fact, Royal College of Physicians, Tobacco Advisory Group chair, Professor John Britton says “with sensible regulation, electronic cigarettes have the potential to make a major contribution towards preventing premature death, disease, and social inequalities in health that smoking currently causes.”
He adds “smokers should be reassured that these products can help them quit all tobacco use, forever.” The report released by the Royal College of Physicians (R.C.P.) is comprised of as much as 200 pages titled ‘Nicotine Without Smoke: Tobacco Harm Reduction’. In the report, the Royal College essentially urges smokers to switch to vaping.
Now Is The Time To Switch
If there is ever a time to switch to vaping, it is now. Nowadays, it is likely you know someone or have seen someone vaping. It has finally become the norm, while tobacco cigarettes take the backseat. If you are ready to discover tastes like never before, breathe effortlessly, and feel much better than you do from smoking cigarettes, vaping is the answer.
What Is A Vaping Device?
There are several devices on the market today. The industry has evolved and manufacturers have made great strides in innovation. You can take your pick on what you prefer, be it a vape pen, a disposable vape, a pod system, or a mod — there are many to choose from to ensure you are satisfied.
To break this down for you, any nicotine vaping device is comprised of a body/shell, a battery that sits in this body (whether it is built-in or not), and a wired coil (which is the heating element) with leads that complete an electrical circuit. When the battery is powered, the electrical circuit begins and the coil heats up. There is also a tank or reservoir to hold e-liquid (also known as vape juice). A piece of cotton is placed either inside or outside of the coil. The cotton soaks up the e-liquid and each time the coil heats up, it vaporizes the e-liquid. It is a very simple process that was incredibly innovative.
How Do You Use A Vaping Device?
There are some devices that you simply draw from and inhale, which is simple enough, right? There are other devices that require you to press a button to activate the battery. There are even devices that come with display screens and allow you to make specific adjustments to enhance performance or monitor things like resistance, battery level, and much more. Again, the process of vaping is very simple and shouldn’t be overcomplicated. Find a vaping device you like, do a little research on it to learn about it, then shoot for the stars by making the switch to vaping.
What Is E-Liquid?
Some people refer to the liquid that vapor products use in many ways. Some call it e-liquid, vape juice, vape oil, nicotine liquid, and many more. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what you call it. What matters is that it is all the same. It’s comprised of four ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin, Nicotine, and Flavoring. That is it! It is simply a liquid that can be vaporized.
However, again, we’ve had some strides along the way, and now many vapers are also using nicotine salt e-liquid. It is a different form of e-liquid that allows you to vape higher nicotine e-liquids more comfortably — something you can’t do with regular nicotine e-liquid. Nicotine salt e-liquid (also known as nic salts or salt nicotine) is often used with devices like disposable vapes, vape pens, and pod systems. The good thing about nicotine salts is that you vape less using it, so it lasts you longer, you can vape higher milligram nicotine, and it tastes the same as any other e-liquid.
Tanks, Pods, Atomizers, and Coils
A tank or pod is simply a reservoir that holds the e-liquid. Both of them operate in the same way but have a different design. They both hold coils and the same process happens as explained above. An atomizer is similar, except the coil is different and the atomizer could have a tank or could not.
There are atomizers with an exposed coil for “dripping” and there are atomizers with a tank. Atomizers are more advanced and usually require you to construct your own coil and manually install it. There are several different types of coils that vaping devices use, some that are made out of different materials, some have different shapes, some are encapsulated by a shell (we call them coil heads), and some are exposed.
When you use a tank or pod, you will need a specific coil head that fits it. With a disposable device, all of this is built into one piece and you won’t have to worry about filling the device with e-liquid, charging it, or replacing the coil.
Learn About Vaping Devices
In this vaping guide for 2020, we want you to learn about devices as well. There are several different devices available on the market today. To skim through it all, we’ll share all of the different devices available and how they work.
Vape Pen: A vape pen is often the term used to describe a device that has a narrow, cylindrical shape. It can look like a cigarette, it can be similar to the shape of a pen, or even the size of a cigar.
Disposable Vape: A disposable vape can take on a few different shapes and sizes. Typically, it will be compact and very portable. No matter the shape or size, the device is disposable; designed to be thrown in the trash when finished using it. With this type of device, it is all made into one piece and no way of refilling or recharging it. Once either the e-liquid runs out or the battery dies, it’s time to discard. These devices are available at an extremely low price due to its disposable design.
Vape Pod: A vape pod system is a device that is compact, portable, and provides a higher level of convenience for the user while maintaining optimal performance and reliability. These devices will have either replaceable pods (remember, pods are basically reservoirs that hold the e-liquid and coil), replaceable coils, or both. Most pods require you to use nicotine salt e-liquid that you fill yourself, while some of them offer specific coil heads that are designed so that you can use normal nicotine e-liquid.
Vape Mod: A vape mod is a more powerful, oftentimes more advanced device than others. It can include a display screen or not, allow you to adjust the power and other settings, it often has room for large batteries, although some mods have built-in batteries, and it allows you to use any tank or atomizer you desire. With a mod, you have many more options, more power, and performance, but at the same time, you won’t have the same convenience and compact design as you would with other device options.
What You’ve Learned
From the start of this article, we shared what you’ve heard about vaping during your time of interest, we’ve told you the truth about vaping and why you should switch to vaping, then we told you what a vaping device is, how to use it, and what e-liquid is so that you can use it. We then continued by telling you about tanks, pods, atomizers, and coils so that you know every little detail of a vaping product and how it all works, and we couldn’t forget to tell you about all of the devices so that you can find the right one for yourself.
While vaping is very simple, yet a genius idea, there is a lot to it if you make it a lot. You can go the simple route and use a disposable vaping device, which has become extremely popular in 2020, or you can make it more complicated, yet fun, by going with a vape mod. You are not being judged by what you use and how you use it. Vaping was designed to reduce harm, it was designed as a less harmful alternative to smoking, and at the end of the day, whatever works for you is what we recommend.
This updated vaping guide for 2020 certainly doesn’t compare to the one we originally wrote for this blog. However, what we’ve learned over the years is that people don’t want to take hours reading an article to learn every little intricate detail of vaping. They simply want to know what it is, how to use it, and where they can buy it to get started. We hope we’ve achieved that with this quick article sharing all of the need-to-know information about vaping and vapor products.
