A Complete Guide To The Wismec Predator 228

West Coast Vape Supply

Wismec Predator 228 Simple Operation

Turning The Predator On/Off:  After installing the batteries, rapidly clicking the fire button 5 times will bring the device to life. To put the Predator 228 back in an un-powered state, 5 more clicks will power it down.

Setting The Resistance of Your Coil:  Whenever you install a new coil into your tank, the Predator should ask if it is a new coil. Make sure you hit the fire button while nothing is attached to the 510 to ensure it is reading zero. Always install new coils at room temperature for an accurate reading of the coil, otherwise you could be left with a burnt coil on the first hit. When you hit the fire button, the Predator will ask if it’s a new coil, hit the left button to say yes and the device will read the resistance.

Stealth Functions:  While the device is powered on, simultaneously hold the fire button and the left adjustment key to switch the screen display from on to off. If you ever notice that your device is working but the screen is off, you have probably put it in stealth mode and there is no need to panic – happens more often than most people would care to admit on almost all devices.

Key Lock:  Pressing the left and right adjustment keys simultaneously while the device is switched on will prevent the user from accidentally changing settings on the go.

Screen Rotation:  You can flip the screen 180° by powering the device off and hitting the left/right adjustment keys simultaneously.

Setting The Wattage:  As long as the Predator 228 is in wattage (VW) mode, changing the wattage is as simple as pressing the left and right buttons to raise and lower the wattage.

Changing From Wattage To Temperature Control:  Pressing the fire button 3 times will put the Predator 228 into menu options. Pressing the right adjustment button will allow you to switch between Variable Wattage (VW), Temperature Control (TC : Ni,Ti,SS), and Temperature Coefficient Of Resistance (TCR: M1,M2,M3) modes.

TC / TCR Modes:  Under TC/TCR modes -while the mode is flashing- press the left adjustment key to enter the sub-menu, then press the right button to choose between the various modes and confirm with the fire button.

  1. You forgot one.

To reset the puff counter on the Wismec Predator
    1) Press the fire button 3 times
    2) Press the left adjustment button to select the puff counter “P”
    3) When the puff sign blink, keep pressing the fire button and then you can reset the puffs to zero

  2. Had this for a week and for some reason my side button stopped working and the adjustment buttons on the front make the mod fire without stopping. Returning this for a new one. Nothing I have done will make this work again

  3. My Predator’s display just ceased working this weekend. Last Saturday it would still show the command confirmation like Stealth On/Off or Key Locked/ Unlocked. It just wouldn’t show anything on display. It still fires my RDTA so it’s not totally broken. I may need to return this to the reseller where I got it from…

  4. I have never seen my Predator ask me if my coil is new.

  5. How do I reset my puff count I recently just got my predator thanks in advance

  6. Can someone please tell me how to get the key lock off. For some reason on both my units it’s on key lock and I can’t change the watts. I have tried everything they say to do.

  7. Had my Predator 228 for a few months before things started getting weird. I usually use it in TC mode and the resistance calculation would start resetting and asking if I was using a new coil or the old one. Then when pressing the button, the heat would bounce up and down before outputting almost 0W while saying the temp was at the preset limit, even though it was cool. I dismantled it and cleaned everything, which seemed to fix it for a few weeks, now the 510 connector is loose and the TC mode is almost unusable. I love the design but this is a very poorly made mod. Stay clear of it, I won’t be replacing it with another.

    • And also, it randomly switches into Wattage mode and has to have the atty removed to set it back to TC mode. Finally it will now often report atty short, but when I put the atty onto another mod it fires fine.

      • That’s a sure problem the 510 is starting to come loose. I’ve had 2 and while neither has came out I get short issues all the time. Sometimes taking the tank off or batteries out and resetting the board helps but just temporarily, I’d suggest taking it apart and soldering 510 to the case but make sure to sand flush so everything will fit back but if your not comfortable with solder I’d recommend a new mod.

  8. got to say i have had no problems until recently, it says attomiser short, i have to take the batteries out and back in and it works again, is it on the way out and do i need to replace the unit or is it a simple fix?
